If you are struggling with your repayments and experiencing financial hardship, the first thing you should do is speak to your personal loan provider. Doing this first will enable you to have an honest conversation about your circumstances and see what your loan provider may be able to do to help. If your problem is likely to be short term this could also help you to find a quick resolution and avoid any missed payments being logged on your credit file. If you are unable to come to a solution with your loan provider, you could apply for a financial hardship variation, which would change the terms of your loan, or speak to a debt counselor who will discuss some options with you. |
